transition

transition

A Poem by Vincent

wake up.
no sun to shine,
no laughter to share,
no melancholy or euphoria to bear,
you're all alone here.
darkness fills the void
of a different world contained,
a world of night, only to remain.
it seeks to take the morning
along with it.
as the minutes fall away,
make haste to ready oneself for the day.
wake up.
living in a dreamworld
of neon technicolor nothingness,
an abyss of beautifully crafted disaster;
the last day is verbatim to the next.
wake up, son.
the onslaught awaits.
the derisions, the hollowed promises,
the meaningless facades of comrades in
eternal struggle;
the lights that illuminate the
nightmare
are few and far between.
wake up, child, and realize
the fate of transition.
