Back To The Past

Back To The Past

A Poem by Draven

I know that the time has been long

since last we spoke,

and life has led us our separate ways.

That's the cliche' of this world

in which we live.

I used to think I loved.

We both did, you and I.

It was a teenage dream,

no more real than fairytale.

We made our mistakes,

we had our heartbreaks,

and now here we live

in a different time,

this one being apart.

I have no further regret,

no hostility in my heart towards you,

for although I've moved on and cannot forget,

I have learned.

Great poem. I like the direction and strong ending.

Life moves on overlooking our wills and sorrows. The separation indeed staggers our heart and tends to cease to exist. The heart-throbing moments in a second turns heart-breaking one.But as you said our regret, guilt and sorrows fade away with our realization. You put emotional appeal and conveniently flowling lines.GREAT! Keep writing.
