Herself

Herself

A Poem by Lydia Thacker

I see her in the window.
She is but a shadow
Of who she once
Thought herself to be.

Her gown glides past her hips
As she braces herself
Against the cold night wind.

It seems she is searching
For something,
Something she lost long, long ago.
- Herself.
