The Heart's Lust

The Heart's Lust

A Poem by Emma Raether
"

Written about an old crush...I will admit, he was very attractive and very smart =P Now that I look back I was so enamored with him. Whether it was love or not, I don't know but I no longer feel for him.

"

Your eyes are like a storming sea,
The perfect intermingling of blue and gray;
How I'd wish they'd gaze upon me

Your lips are like rose petals
Lovely and pink
But forever in bloom

Your hair is like white gold
Melted down and strewn into wires
By the great Hephaestus himself

Your skin is like a cluster of clouds
Soft and white
How I long to touch it

Your mind is so bountiful
Like the autumn harvest
Filled with all varieties
Of the fruits of knowledge

Your heart is like a glass ornament
Beautiful and delicate;
I would cherish it forever
