A Misunderstanding

A Misunderstanding

A Poem by Emma Raether
"

A poor poem of mine, when I was mistaken for someone else aka a friend of my crush. Apparently our names are similar so he misunderstood.

"

You couldn’t see
That I wasn’t him
I was me

You kept me from loneliness
Your bore me away
From the droll life
I live every day

It was nice to talk
To someone like you
You were so kind
And odd like me too

Now, you ignore me
Because I’m not him
It happened so fast
It seemed like a blur
To me.

It was just an accident
I didn’t mean to deceive
I just wasn’t the person
You believed I was

I’m sorry for the misunderstanding
Can we still be friends?
People say I’m kind
And I’d stand by loyal
Until the end
