Sacred tree

Sacred tree

A Poem by Victoria

Spread deep, immersed in the soil like overgrown worms digging
Life
Roots burrowing deeper an deeper
Fifty years, a hundred
There you are
Standing tall and high
Still green like the serpent who tempted Eve
Balance and peace, two things the world will never achieve
All around you grow
Giving hope that
All forms of creation are connected

I liked how this poem is filled with nuance. There's something very sensual and raw, as well as earthy in the overgrown worms digging. And the roots burrowing deeper and deeper.

Thumbs up.
