I Chose To Leave

Here's to everyone out there too scared to be loved, trying to knit what they feel into words.

I'm scared of staying too close,

I'm scared of laying bare.

With all my fears and flaws,mistakes and marks

What if you see my darkest thoughts

and realize i was never the one ?

I'm scared of letting you breath my air

My grey and blue might touch your hue

the only I've ever known,your joy I cannot smear.

I chose to leave.

Saving myself from the melancholy

Of knowing I am a misery

From someone I called my melody.

But when I left, I wished to stay.
