The one who always gets left, doing the leaving this time..

I would write your name in the sky

For everyone to see.

I would yell to the world,

Just how much you mean to me.

 

I want to give you every possible

Aspect of happiness, that your

Heart desires.

But you won’t let me.

 

You hold me at arm’s length.

Won’t let me in.

I can’t pretend.

This time I won’t beg.

 

Do what you want.

You are going to push me away.

You will never change.

This dragon, I will no longer slay.

 

You are going to do

Things your way.

So, I’ll do the leaving this time.

I’ve had enough.

Your heart will never be mine.

 

I won’t ask your mind to sway.

Your pleas are not enough

To make me stay.

First, let me say "Wonderful!" again! 3rd stanza, 3rd line, just needs the word let inserted. I love the 4th stanza and your reference to not trying anymore as the dragon you will not slay. Great verbage. Great writing honey.

LOL. I learned in my GEN class, that our brain memorizes the shape of words, and we get so used to it that we aren't even really reading anymore. It was an interesting fact.

Okay, this poem has a lot of truth in it. People go away because they prefered someone else and never accepted us but at the end they see how valuable we are, but giving them another oportunity I think its... dumb.
