Brief Flashes of Morbid Poetry

Brief Flashes of Morbid Poetry

A Poem by Aries

Cold
Distant
Naught but a vision
A faraway dreaming, told safe from within protective arms
Nonsensical whimsy, a thought so flimsy
Til the day that it's not

Copper blood
Sharpness of an acid knife
The sand buried bones of time
The crystal goblet held in the skeletal hand
Of the one who drank of the poisonous well

My breath is crisp and ragged
The icy unforgiving stone of the square
As I dared to run, but fell
I will surely die

Rainbow streaks
They live within your eyes
Soft, ever changing and fluid
Jeweled snakes
Whose beauty you might selfishly hide
