What Happened To Those Days?

What Happened To Those Days?

A Poem by M Armenia
"

A Poem about a young girl with a very distant relationship with her mother...

"

What happened to those days?
The days you made me dinner
The days you watched movies with me until late at night even though you knew I had school the next day but you didn't care
You didn't care because you wanted to be with me
I wanted to be with you
Now I'm just an empty bag floating around your house that you only see for a couple hours a day
We only talk two to three times a day
You used to give me love and attention
Now you just walk away from me acting like I'm not even your daughter
Sometimes you don't even look at me you just look at your phone
When I try to tell you what happened you don't put down your phone
You look at it first answer everyone else and then answer me last
You care for me you pay the bills and your paying for my future but
I don't need any of that from you
I just need your loving attention and I need to know you care
I need to hear your voice more then once a day
I want to hang out with you and I want to tell you whats wrong but I can't do it if you don't show me that warmth moms are supposed to show
What happened to those days when we used to hug and never let go?
What happened to those days when you wouldn't leave me alone?
What happened to those days when you were at home?
Those days are gone and I'm alone
Mom I know your home but I need more then just your presence I need you, your love, and your attention.
