Nostalgia Drive

Nostalgia Drive

A Poem by Quill
"

The past collides with the present

"
I often convulse with the past
At times with definitive purposes
Other times without reason
Simply the wandering of an idle mind
Therefore I concluded not to live in the days gone
However a being of the past seeks my presence
A hilarious proposition I suppose
This being promises a better future with this Union
I am taken by surprise by this encounter
I fear this creature is unaware of its own purpose
It seeks some form of clarity and clemency
It's need caught my attention briefly
However the past must remain in itself
I am willing to forgo past encounters
For they have served their purpose
The future design has no provision for bygone
There are things of the past which should be forgone
And this being may be provocative yet incoherent
In the grand scheme ultimately unneeded
I have no intention to prolong contact with it
But I admit it had its time
However it's time has graciously passed
And progression must come without a question

For most of us, the past simply refuses to stay where it belongs.
We well know this should not be long indulged.
Knowing, however, is not, necessarily, being.
Thoughtful piece, Q.
