And so, we shall wane (too sad, the thought)

And so, we shall wane (too sad, the thought)

A Poem by Wandering Minstrel

Come, come again and bind me, my Love,
upon the buttery ties of your most blesséd, heaving breast.
Our fall need not happen, whilst beating within this chest
lives the chromatic, kaleidoscopic, effervescent fever of you,
   - of us,
    - of we,
     - as one,
      - together
       -fastened
      -lip to lip
     -hip to hip
    -lip to hip
   -hip to lip.

Our heated vows, still simpering, simmering
and we allow not the cooling of our
-mutual exclusivity, away from all others,
conjoined, as we are, ever anon.

For, though we share this world with others,
oh, how we are separate, holding each other
only as far away as our sweat-soaked skins
can be assured that no light can insert itself
between our joined form, for we two jealously
guard that sacrosanct domain with such fervor!

Oh, my Love, how others wish to invade with eyes,
and stare, in wonder, at the joining we shall never,
ever allow to leave off.
   -Never.
Oh, their need to invade with distended nostrils,
      ' flared ←
in hopes of picking up the heady scent of us.

Behind closed drapes and locked doors, no others
may know of us, and so we shall never,
ever allow our joining to leave off.

   -Never.
