Oil Lang Syne!

Oil Lang Syne!

A Poem by Wandering Minstrel

when love is vibrant
it paints a picture
that we hang in the
corners of our minds,
and we often view it
with melancholy smiles
long after the love has faded,
and even when we face death
a virulent force that steals
our breath just as much as
love once did, it is then
we study the picture even more,
and cling to the soft strokes
and gentle pastels that created it long ago

Often times the value of the picture increases, we realize it's worth too late.
Great poem, this one is a beauty.

You speak buckets of truth in this one my friend. We often don't appreciate what we have until all that is left are the memories that we try to cling to with all our might.
