Honour

Honour

A Poem by West of Everyone

Memories of past long gone
Hold dear the ones we loved
They who gave their lives for ours
So that we may live to see a bright tomorrow

Yet do we honour them?
Do we take their blessing
And better our tomorrow for their sake?
Or do we let their memories fade?

Fading from our preception
Giving up their legacy
Making their sacrifices for naught
How could one commit such a travesty as this?

Take your life into your hands, for they have given theirs
Live your life, for they have died
See your tomorrow, for they cannot
Honour them, and those who protect you still

I believe that telling you my thoughts on my own writing will impede upon your interpretation and preception of my writing as a reader. You have every right to think as you will upon what my writing means, even if I personally think you wrong. But I shall never tell my thoughts, except to my closest friends, whom inspire me to write as such.

With the word "travesty", I get a strong emotion, like bewilderment, but I have no idea what this is about. Maybe put in a little note somewhere. :)
