Paint Your Picture Red

Paint Your Picture Red

A Poem by AshGrey

My heart was a blank piece of paper.
You wrote your name there with a permanent marker.
Your love for me might fade away,
But the name on my heart is getting darker.

I struggle hard to keep myself busy,
Keep myself from getting lost in memories.
I know your life is better without me,
But I can't help begging for you to please

Sing to the rhythm of my heart beat.
Baby, I'm no artist
To paint your picture red.
Watch me as I fight with myself.
Baby, I'm not perfect
To paint your picture red.

I'd promised myself I'll be stronger this time;
You made me a butterfly with torn wings.
People do want others to hold onto,
But you had me wanting you to always

Sing to the rhythm of my heart beat.
Baby, I'm no artist
To paint your picture red.
Watch me as I fight with myself.
Baby, I'm not perfect
To paint your picture red.

I wish I had you close for warmth every morning these days.
I wish I had the right to call you mine in case
You sometimes want to

Sing to the rhythm of my heart beat.
Baby, I'm no artist
To paint your picture red.
Watch me as I fight with myself.
Baby, I'm not perfect
To paint your picture red.

I wanna write your name with clouds
In the sky spread wide.
I can't paint your picture red.
Boy, I won't lie. I won't pretend.
I won't let them hold my hand.
I won't paint your picture red.

Thank you very much. =)
Every name that is written on the heart is permanent, just like the pain their echoes make. Beautifully written.
