I don't want to

I don’t want to die

I just don’t want to live

Every breath is taxing

Every word exhausting

Because I have to be ok

 

I don’t want to lie

I just can’t tell the truth

The truth is so heavy

And people only want the light

So that is what I give

 

I don’t want to cut

I just want to bleed

The pain is consuming

The numb is confusing

The red levels me out and brings peace

 

I don’t want to starve

I just don’t want to eat

In a life with no control

Food consumption is my own

The hunger is just part of the process
