Alone

Alone

A Poem by Ashira Macy

Alone

She sat within

Her snow-bed…

Cold blue crystals

Shimmering in the sunshine,

Echoing through glacial walls.

Alone

Is better

She mused as her

Happy snowflakes

Danced gracefully, gleefully

Around her pale face.

Alone

Means she can feel…

Not conceal

The storm in her heart

That once tore

Her world apart.

But…

Alone

Means no other

To laugh with,

Who will plan

Whether or not they wanna

Build a snowman.

My fav stanza is this:

",,,Alone
Means she can feel…
Not conceal
The storm in her heart
That once tore
Her world apart..."

I agree that feeling the need to conceal emotions in the presence of others can wreak havoc in a person's life. There's a sorrowful element to this poem, in that the person has not found anyone with which to be real.

Thanks so much Sandi,it really is true, which is why we must find those who we can be real with.

Aww this was a very sweet one, the ending just melted my heart. I love how you connected snow with this and after a few lines you put the word "Alone" again to really let it sink in to the reader, and you did a wonderful job at that. Great work!

Your welcome :) and haha thanks
i connected to this in an odd way probably...i saw almost a reverse to Adam and Eve---she has lost her lover...and now, is wondering if they will take some of her snow and build an Adam for her so that she will no longer be alone...for now she sits by herself in her cold bed, feeling the ice in her heart, hoping that eventually she will not melt alone.

The above lines are true. We need time with friends and family to built a snowman. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Thanks so much Coyote, I am glad you connected with it. =)
i always like your idea...a lonely person can only talk to himself..can laugh but on whom there is no one ...she can create anything but who will guide..all alone she can take a ride but her journey, who will decide..but it surely tells another side..being alone she can feel her own heart beats...answer her questions..loved it..loved the thought..:)
