They say distance only makes the heart grow fonder. In my case, one grew further than the miles in between.

Am I ashamed or am I too proud,

To admit maybe I was once wrong?

A love struck teenager or the driven one?

Was I passionate or was I the foolish one?

Or was I just naive to believe, that love is all I need?

 

Now miles away from you,

Maybe I see things more clearly.

All I have now is me.

Life doesn't stop to wait,

Not even a minute or a second,

For me to just catch my breath.

 

Never asked for this,

But now with,

A bit of confidence and courage,

Facing life where ever it may take.

This naive prison I’ve finally escaped.

 

Though you may still be near,

All I really need is just me.

Love is strong,

But I believe I am stronger.

I really loved the last lines . Very right approach to make oneself stronger. Sometimes distance widens the gap even further.
