My Mistake

My Mistake

A Poem by AR

I should have never taken that extra comfortable step

You talked me into it and I folded because I deep down wanted to forget

The past and drown the voices that fill my mind with paranoia and regret

So into a cloud of love I dove only to get to know

It was a wisp, I felt its greatness but it was that and nothing more

And now I'm left the fool who took the plunge

Blindly dived in only to be greeted by no one.
