To Zeus

To Zeus

A Poem by Aster Icarus

Mighty Zeus, the lord of lightning,
King of all above and below,
To the evil you prove fright'ning,
You ensure they reap what they sow.
Deeds of the good you greatly bless
And hearts of darkness feel your lash.
Storm clouds gather at your caress,
Pow'r revealed in each thunder crash.
Your mighty presence I do call,
My heart, before you, wildly beats.
My spirit your presence enthralls,
I tremble in awe of your feats.
I praise you Zeus, the Heavens' Lord,
Ruler of the Olympic halls.
I praise you Zeus, the thunder's roar,
I praise you Zeus, the king of all!
