First love

First love

A Poem by Atharva

A face, only to realize beauty exist
Eyes only dive deeper, in the oceans of fire
Smile, only to know that I can smile
A heartbeat, only to realize love
a love between two strangers
a strangers who become soulmate
but grew apart in cosmos.
I went on the road ignoring the message on the board
beware said it, but was so young to care
excited to meet, we met
she laughed, i felt better
she was shining like sun in day
she was shining like moon in night
we became friends, thought of no end.
Days passed now we became friend,
we mailed, we messaged, we talked,
but something was changed, talks were different
words became work, schoolworks
differences was built like wall between two terrain
she smiled when I looked, but laughed with someone else
I did everything, tried to achieve that laugh
but only to realize her and mine life was different.
Now was the time, to make decision of future
but fate played she wanted to walk on different path
but I wanted her, only to gamble my life on her
came to know she went on that path for someone she loved
I was told when i told her that I loved her
she played violin for him as he played piano
I played with words for her but she smiled
I was lost on the path, to realize I was alone without her
I tried one more gamble to play game of love with her
but risk was high, I tried but failed
Days passed with unsaid things day by day
so today was the last day of school, last exam
one of the most beautiful smile
while leaving she looked and smiled, then
talks stopped, messages stopped. mails stopped
I vowed to forget her, i didn't stopped loving her
she was heartbeat, she was blink, she was life
so days passed, today I seat on the way back to home
I saw her in the car looking like the first time I saw her
she smiled, her eyes were the same looking at me
I smiled, got up and walked on the path which I took.

I would like to begin by saying, you speak through soul and sadness. I love the imagery that you use to express your deepest feelings. The way you longed for your soul mate. To conjoin with them to be one. It is a classic tale that sadly ends in tragedy. I too can relate to such a thing but that is what makes this so much more immersive. You have put what most have felt into a tightly written poem. I thank you for this. You have done a very good job.
