Lavender Perfume

Lavender Perfume

A Poem by Xanthous Crow
"

Yeah, right.

"
I am a lonely man,
I derive no sustenance from socialization,
Nor from my "peers",
I tend to stay away,
Keep myself locked in my room,
Nice and tight and safe,
But I do long for companionship,
From time-to-time,
I long to meet you,
My sweet, my special one,
The one who'll hold my heart,
Maybe your perfume will smell like lavender,
Or maybe azaleas,
And maybe your name will be Adelaide
Or Cora or Violet, something of the sort,
Exotic and alluring, hopefully,
But any will do,
Maybe you'll understand me,
Or not at all,
And maybe you'll listen and withstand,
This pent up anger and frustration,
Hopefully it won't send you running,
Scared,
But regardless, I long to meet you,
Whoever you are,
Open myself up to you,
For good or ill,
Even if you take my heart and shatter it,
And maybe just once this bed won't seem so empty,
Nor will this home seem a void,
Or this life seem empty and pointless,
Perhaps you'll keep me up at night,
With witty conversation or things you've said,
That I couldn't easily decipher,
Or maybe will I stay up to watch you sleep,
I don't know, I don't want to know,
Because the future should be special,
And maybe it won't be so bad,
But I long to meet you,
Whoever you are,
You visit my dreams with the scent of perfume,
Roses and sandalwood and musk,
On a spring breeze,
Hopefully this loneliness will be gone with the rising sun,
I long to meet you,
Whoever you are,
Whoever you are.
