you, pitiful preacher

you, pitiful preacher

A Poem by Atosa

You try to preach
with your words of wisdom
You try to make me see
how life should be
You want me to see the truth
help me find my way in life
Your words make sense
but there is something you don't see

What you tell me is your truth
it's your path in life
What you want me to find
is your religion
your answers to what is real

I can't follow your path
I have to find my own
I can't listen to your words blindly
when you tell me not to follow others

I cannot accept your reality
when I see the insanity in it
I can't live your life
when I see how it's falling apart

i've always felt a little wary about the truth, especially coming from religion. seek on and ye shall find. sadly, most of us only find what we were expecting to find. good poem.

I understand your message, but remember to be truly open to finding the truth about life you must listen to all things. Even the things that sting at your ears can help you to see your own path clearly. Just a thought. Great read!
