To her Father

To her Father

A Poem by Attaxer

If I had the chance to talk to you.
You might ask me what my intentions were with your daughter.
I would tell you.
I want her to be happy.
I think she deserves that much.
I believe I was put on this earth to make her happy.
I believe that is the reason I exist.

He would nod at me and tell me that those were pure intentions.
I would ask him if he believed in love at first sight.
I don't know what he would say, but...
I would tell him that was the way it was with her for me.

The first moment my eyes lay upon her.
I was in love.
This is the first written record of my admitting that to myself.
And to the world.

I wonder what he would say...
If he knew that you're all that I think about.
If he knew that you're happiness was my number one concern in life.
If he knew that I loved your more than I love breathing.
