Predilection

Predilection

A Poem by Auburn Fox
"

A poem about the whirlwind of feelings that is swept along in this thing we call love.

"

Predilection

and I don’t quite know how to capture

the very essence of simply

living

laying

and loving with you

in words

maybe its because my heart

is so deeply shipwrecked for you

and in your bright eyes

I can so comfortably lose myself

like I have never before been touched

by the pain that once guided me

for you weaved back together

my chaotic pieces

and kissed away my flaws

as if my lips were oxygen

and you couldn't breathe

your strong mind

pours light through my windows

and into the cracks in my foundation

carefully holding my fragile hand

and stretching my mind

past narrow reality

your eyes have their own vocabulary

captivating me with your wisdom

and I know

with every fiber of my soul

that I am hopelessly yours

and it will always be so
