The Desert Song

As the wind blew

lifting the dust from the sandy plains
the heat blurred the sight

and the clear blue sky smiled at us
Infinite dunes hide the horizon

after which lies the city we seek
The city of 1001 nights

where myth never lived and reality dies

On a turn of the head

dusty steps in slow motion

crawls closer to my sight
a slap in the shoulder

and a good luck smile,

let's go it is time
A deafening roar of monster's

engines crowded the immense planes
we were on our way to meet fate

written for some and for others...

The show of fireworks at night

was huge and the sound so loud
no rest for the tired,

no pay for the hired

go ahead and make us proud
carry your friend all the time

use it all you can,

just lower their count
I will try to take you back home

I will try to keep you alive...

I will try

Never thought this time would come

now that all is said and done
we will maybe come out of this hurt

or dead if we do come out
We will fight hard against Baghdad,

the city of the 1001 nights
where real people live,

myth do not exist

and our reality dies
