Intangible

Intangible

A Poem by Aura Devour
"

I'm going through this goddamned writer's block again but I tried to break the ice.

"
A blank mind
Not a blank soul.
Step by step it all crumbles,
Now where will you run to?
You see, feelings are intangible
You cannot expect to comprehend.
Love is not a concept
Just an emotion to be felt.
Let it drown you in the moment
Its waves crushing in on you.
It doesn't matter if it's momentary
Nor if it's everlasting.
We spend our lives,
Trying to be sure.
"Maybe we should wait",
Maybe let it go!
But I think it's a waste of time
Surety is a fool's endeavor.

I completely disagree with much of the conceptual premise (love is actually a conceptually perceived experience, as are all emotions, with corresponding somatic resonance) but still enjoyed the poem. I do find the juxtaposition of conversational prose and first letter caps to be conflicting. I know I am hopelessly old school but I don't care for end prepositions ( I love Latin, what can I say)
The last line is excellent.

You are so right. There are tangible and intangible things in life. Some are experienced and some are not. Some are given and some are spent. An excellent one...:)..............

Beautifully written. The meaning of love is ever vague. Sometimes temporary and sometimes lasting for a lifetime. Blessed are the ones to have it. Soul crushing for those devoid of it.

Well - this is a mighty fine read - for a writer's block you have smashed it.
