Clamor

Clamor

A Poem by Sherry

The thousands upon thousands

Of waves in the ocean

Are waiting for their story

To be told and thrown away.

They have flung it through the ages

At the ships, the cliffs, the skies,

With temper and with fury.

Will no one take it away?

I will bottle up the hurt,

The venom and the bite,

Of a thousand stormy seas,

And fling it at the moon.

No more shall there be

A breeze in the ocean,

A roar in the waves.

The universe will ring

With the hollowness of water,

The universe will ring

With the stories of the waves.
