The Other Dave

The Other Dave

A Poem by Aurora Tigress

It's too late
Another missed connection
From another part of the planet
That first quarter century kills
A slave to the music
A whirlwind of peroxide, flesh and lipstick
He who adorns his title
With relevance I can't deny
I try too hard to read into
When I feel the planets will align
Speaking to me from another dimension
The one they will never reach with science
The words so true they hurt
But I needed it
There are too many times
When I can't think or see straight
But I'm closer to completion
When the singing starts
I'm closer to life
With the force of Rock
The felines are feeding again
But this time it's with love
The spots, the stripes
And everything ripe
And nothing to be afraid of
Except losing it all
I can't follow just yet
It's too soon
My brain's gone over and around the moon
A tigress in rage
They caught me in a cage
But I know a way out
And thanks to you,
There is less doubt
But it's a long road ahead
With many obstacles to dread
But I will look to you for peace
And if my journey leaves me deceased,
I'll know it was worth it
Because you guided me from beyond the grave
There's Dr. G, then the other Dave
