Rope's Hold

Rope's Hold

A Poem by Hippy

Again I spin this rope with no end

To a noose that won’t slip loose

For my head is stuck on you

Pull out my head and pull it through

I’d be fine

But I stick it in again and again

With more hope with no end

But just let it be

The noose would slip free

And so would me

How many times must I build this knot

Till someone pulls it free and grabs me

For I tire of the choke hold of every rope

It takes more and more to get me free

I must give up and let it all be

I’ll let them build the rope to lasso me

But every time I take that path

It turns to stab my back

Where must I lay

To be picked from one whom is great

I need to be set free

From all rope

And all of thee
