I Think

What I think.

I think if a person tells you
Their favorite song, you should
Put it on and lay on your bed
And just listen to it, even if
It lasts ten or twenty minutes,
And at the end you will know
The person much better,
I think.

I think if you are ever talking
To a friend and another friend
Joins you, and you start feeling
Like you’re just there and not
Really a part of it anymore, you
Should go home and listen
To that song again and let yourself
Know that they told you because
You’re a part of everything to them,
I think.

I think if someone shows you what
They wrote, you should read it
Word by word without skipping
Anything or only really reading the
Dialogue, because by the end of
it you will know the person
Even better than before,
I think.

I think if a person ever shows you
Something they drew that they don’t
Show anyone else, you should look
At it for hours, and stare until
You can see and understand every
Last detail of it in your head,
Because when you’ve done that
You will know them the best,
I think.

I think if someone does all of
These things
For you
That you are very lucky
Because they completely love you
And know you
And even if they’re clueless about
The small things that make big differences,
Like favorite foods and colors and names,
They know the important stuff
And they think it’s the most beautiful thing
And they want to show you the things
That they’re scared aren’t beautiful
Because you might make them so,
I think.

I think I’m not the best judge of people.
I think I think too much.
I think that means I’m sad.

If I ever meet someone like that, I think I’d take a bullet for them
Not because I’d love them back but because I’d want to die,
I think.
