gone

gone

A Poem by AvalonJune
"

just some scribbles i wrote about heading off to college next week. #freakingout

"
The walls are emptying,
Old photographs are nestled in a box
To become dusty memories
Of the days spent in make-believe
With friends, hours devoted to becoming
Indians or princesses, long delicious
Moments swept away in fanciful places,
Dreaming of fairy tales,
Innocence and youth.
Books are packed together.
Thousands of pages mingle.
Ancient and new words clash.
Peter Pan and The Oddesy
My room is stripped bare.
Everything about me is gone.
No trace is left.
I am gone.

Oh how sweet! Perhaps life is just a fantasy, after all. So self-contrived and so intensely ego-centric we all are.

This poem was especially beautiful.
