On SecretsA Poem by Sam Markay"A kiss is a minefield." The most recent poem of late. (June 2011)
We fall quiet and, softly, you tell me your story.
After so long, and so much effort, you have become strong and weak. It's my fault you conceded defeat. I will always be a part of your downfall. You remind me of summer And winter, Sun, rain, wind, lightning, Shattering glass and music. I wonder what you think of me? As you reach the part of your story where I matter, Your eyes can't meet mine, but They flicker upward and I catch a glimpse. Your pupils cannot decide whether to dilate or contract. I interrupt you (it's a talent I have) To inform you of this. Your hair falls into my vision and it obscures. You remind me of summer And winter, Sun, rain, wind, lightning, Shattering glass and music. I wonder what you're thinking? © 2011 Sam Markay |
