Colour Wheel

A Poem by Sam Markay
"

This is a portrait of myself, derived from a lot of musing, and a medicine wheel.

"
I begin with the heart,
I end with the body.
My spirit screams and my mind shivers.

Is it wrong to radiate
some fine feelings of pain
to share my hurt, my love,
my happiness?

Is it wrong to emulate
euphoria of my experiences,
exhibit passion and optimism
and belief?

Is it wrong to leave my mind
by the wayside, waiting
until it may wander and flow
and panic?

Is it wrong to use my body
to free all the rest
in music, in light, in
intimate partnership?

Is it right to love the seasons
like they're children ever-changing,
ever mine and never
gone from memory?

I begin with the heart,
I end with the body.
My spirit sighs, my mind never at ease.

About
I write things from myself, as any writer does. Most often it becomes poetry, or poetic prose. I also enjoy working on longer fiction pieces, and will try almost anything new if it fits the mood. more..
