Actions Have Consequences

Actions Have Consequences

A Poem by Natalie Aidyn

Sometimes when my mind is loud I go back to you. I reread the pieces of your mind you granted me access to, even if it was all but fillers. I look to see if you even bother to check up on me, and as far as I'm aware… you never do. It's honestly unfair of me at this point to hope you'll reach out like you did before and even the glimpse of your photographed smile strikes a sense of regret in me. Once upon a time we were close, once upon a time we talked over the phone for hours, once upon a time I never longed to see you someday in the future, because I had you right here, right then. I have to accept that my actions have consequences and maybe I won't get to ever talk to you again.
