Apocalypse

Apocalypse

A Poem by Azalee Schmetterling
"

A brutal image for the end of the world...

"

Hellacious screams take the night

   Filling the atmosphere with fright

Demons rain down from the sky

It’s time for all the mortals to die!

Blood runs rivers down the street

   Bodies severed, none too neat

A mother screams, “Where is my daughter?”

With the rest of the children; sacrificial slaughter

Rounded up and executed

   Even screams escape the muted

Time is up for humanity

Death to them and their vanity

Mortal rule has come to an end

   Into darkness we shall descend!

Wow... very vivid imagery in this piece... What more can I say other than excellent with a capital 'E' Oh, one more thing, it rhymes... I love poetry that has rhythm and rhymes...
