an entanglement

I still remember the day we first met
a kind, innocent, lost soul
a reflection of who I used to be
unsure of who he was, and the greatness he deserved
I set out on a journey to show him love

naivety proved its strength when I stumbled and became besotted with this magnificent stranger whom for I was filled with desire
for his heart was unwavering, his manners were charming and his soul untouched

unable to tame the beast of affection
I fought with the passion that desperately sought this most admirable man
manifesting an affection to last an eternity
Oh how I wish I stayed away from this scorned man

a journey I took to mend his broken heart turned mine into charcoal black and bitterness which cannot be returned

for now I lay, haunted with memories of desire
still unsure of whether my lover was ever mine


death brings judgement, raw truth and reward
I await death by the second
excited to turn old and be first in line to be accepted back to the skies
for I’ll be judged of how wrongly I loved you but atleast I’ll know if you ever loved me too.


and if you never did, I’ll pray, I’ll pray, I’ll pray that you’ll be rewarded to me anyway.
