Disgusted From Within

Disgusted From Within

A Poem by B-poet
"

Dealing with Inner turmoil

"

Too much time has been wasted

In the blink of an eye

What could have been

Has been blown out like a candle in the wind

Where can you find the strength to persevere

Once the chance has gone

It will no longer appear

It’s hard to pretend

The portrait you tried to place yourself in

Was a moment that was precious to capture

Where lives were changed

And the cause of it meant more

Than what it was worth

But ignorance chose to steal it

From your grasp to seize

A moment

Where everyone could’ve been receptive

To position themselves

While gaining a better stance for living life

Could have been the main aim

But now all we have

Is a shattered image of me and everyone

Whose been afflicted by the spirit of suppression, guilt, shame

Negativity and the blame game

Thus we continue to carry on like a torch with a burning flame

Which was not relevent enough for gaining our attention

To serve as a proper foundation for our lives

What could have been

Is the question

I’m trying to answer

Because I sick of living this so-called lie

Which is my life

In the first line, "To" should be "Too".
Very emotional piece. I liked it.

Great piece. It's all tied together in the end wonderfully.

Gudda B. I like this s**t, I could see you writing this. The darkness in this is like an abyss with no chance for light even with a torch. Good s**t pimpin.

Love the message in this piece. However, nothing is beyond hope... nothing. I don't know if this piece is a reflection of self or just an observation of how some live, but being true to yourself even if a living situation is difficult is very important to perseverance, being able to recognize the blessings, and provide a foundation for happiness in the face of adversity. If there are things that need to be said, say them, even if it is difficult. The saying truth will set you free isn't just a saying. Life is not black and white AND navigating the landmines is hard. Honest with yourself first, then with anyone you care about... it gets better after that (trust me, I have a WEALTH of experience on this lately!)

Anywho... great writing. Thought provoking, full of feeling and depth. Well done!

I adore the ending! It tied the entire poem together. At least for me. Well written and great job!
