Conquering Disposition

Conquering Disposition

A Poem by B-poet

I turn my back

On the nuisances in life

That impede my progress

Towards a more fulfilled existence

I’ve witnessed the vultures within the depths of darkness

Waiting patiently to feed of my success

As I’m taking a breath of fresh air

Out of the window of my fortress

Built from surviving tests

Disguised as conquests in the form of duress and distress

Imposed on the will of my true character

The barrier that has been lifted

Was a mirror image of what I truly had to fight for

What’s now in store for me

Is to make it through the tunnel of reality

Tarnished by the scope of everyone's envy

So I can say in the end

That no one can emerge from the shadows

And take anything away from me

That I chose to accomplish during the race towards prosperity

This is an interesting one, the mirror image analogy has been circling like vultures on this site, but I can see the lure and have used reflections as well, so I'm not complaining, just making an observation, but I do relate actually very closely with this write, I think everyone is on a cycle right now.
doh..I already reviewed this, lol. ah what the hell, lets go twice.

I have to say that I prefer poetry that has set rhythm and rhyme, but that isn't every writer's opinion. It just helps me follow the poetry better.
I do like how descriptive you are though. Especially in this line: "Tarnished by the scope of everyone's envy"

Terrific piece. I feel the sense of I'm going for it and to making it no natter what stands in my way. That's the way I am when it comes to pretty much anything in my life or that comes my way.

Wonderful write, I especially liked "I’ve witnessed the vultures within the depths of darkness
Waiting patiently to feed of my success
As I’m taking a breath of fresh air
Out of the window of my fortress
Built from surviving tests
Disguised as conquests in the form of duress and distress
Imposed on the will of my true character
The barrier that has been lifted
Was a mirror image of what I truly had to fight for
What’s now in store for me
Is to make it through the tunnel of reality
Tarnished by the scope of everyone's envy"

I can relate to this :)
