Is often

A strange cycle

Of feared sorrow

We encounter

As we're moving forward

With our lives

 

A Peculiar Past

Loves to entrench itself

Within our memory banks

Holding us hostage

From the facts

Of a brighter tomorrow

We all yearn for

After witnessing & conquering

Trepidation Forever

Within the moving

Nightly skyline

Of Life's Forgiving Moon

as always you use an in depth theme that leaves us with a message. great work. i think the flow and comprehension of your poetry could benefit from some punctuation to make a few things more clear.

wonderful! I really, really enjoyed this one!!! What made it special to me, was the idea of a "peculiar past" being something that soaks into you and holds onto you a bit. Not just a regular one... but one with something different about it. The theme of moving on is well portrayed in the piece, I enjoyed the nightly line a lot and I believe you hit on something when you mentioned sorrow, because moving on is a death of sorts... and the fear of that.
