Call a Spade, A Spade

Call a Spade, A Spade

A Poem by B. Hudson
"

Nobody likes dishonesty

"
Call a spade - the truth.
even if we're too far from repair,
'truth' not even a word in vocabulary.
If anything,
now the truth lies where nobody else does.
It's like now we're hiding from what's real,
what's actual.
Only for dishonesty to take form,
and have us submit to its grasp.
It seems,
we can't break past the defiance and adulteration of honesty now.
Because,
who expects that anymore?
It's too hard.

And all that is needed is for someone to stand up and say:
"don't tell me it's the truth,
when this is reality.
Please,
don't call it a spade if it isn't one...
Even if you want to. Even if you have to."

Truth is not real.

The real is way way more fucked up.

How do you think we get through the day? Truth? Ha... hunt and butcher your own food for a year. Tell me how you feel after.

Honesty? Our lifestyle is predicated upon living, at best, a distorted half truth. Ideology, if you have one... you lie.

Poems like these make me chuckle. I did enjoy it.
