Renasci

Renasci

A Poem by Ian
"

'After attaining Me the great souls do not incur rebirth, the impermanent home of misery, because they have attained the highest perfection.' -Bhagavad Gita

"

       The lifeless river
      sways and flickers

    I enter the shallow

                             Enveloped in cold silver
                 stinging my bare shoulders
Daring me to speak the words...

Finally

I throw my arms up in despairing concession
Heeding Nature to take me back
        From an unrelentingly passionless planet

                   A soft voice whispers...
                   Shh...

A wisp of air snakes its way through the evergreen forest
a small breeze; slight & fragile
          But it is just enough

tilt
  slowly,
    but
         fall
                fast

My fragile form disappearing
                    beneath an iridescent blanket

Sinking, I throw my head back to gaze at the moon
   and receive a bored stare
As it gets smaller

And smaller

And, in a flash, disappears completely.

Now, left alone in undefiled darkness; going nowhere
I curl into a ball; shut my eyes

Drifting for eternity toward a better world.

The voyage is destined to be. A very interesting write. Much pondering occurs. Kudos.
