The Hidden Spring

The Hidden Spring

A Poem by Ralphy
"

To my friends.....

"

The Hidden Spring

On a cool summer evening
Under a silvery glazed moon
Lies a small watering spring that cast
A reflective shadow of white steam
Accumulating in the form of bulging clouds
Drifts upward towards the heavens

This secluded wonder
Naturally formed by a crafted Hand
 Of the emerging elements
That replenished the earthen land
And moved Massive structures
To create a wall of rocks and pebbles
Painted by the will of the temperament

This pool of warm water
Has a therapeutic vibration
That cures any dilemma that ails
Your body, mind, or soul and
Lifts the spirit to new heights
While adding a lustful 30 years to an aging soul

In walks a naked couple
Hand in hand, tired and aged
Stepping down into the spring
As their shimmering silhouette
Ripples in the shifting wave
 A whirlpool engulfs them
As they disappeared under the water
A large dome, bubbles up
Babbling to the surface
Carrying the young couple
With a rejuvenating luster
And a gratitude smile
To a comfortable position
Resting in the water

They say it does not exist
Or could not happen
But deep in the forest of lush
Under a shimmering silver moon
Hidden behind a natural fortress
Sunken in the ground
Is this spring of hope
With its revitalizing bubbles
That is waiting to take us
On this unbelievable plunge
Into the fountain of youth

Now this is just lovely Ralphie!
I'm with Sharla....
this is a masterpiece.

Your imagery is magnificent and
after reading this one feels refreshed...
cleansed... a sense of peace.

It's something about those magical fountains... ;)
Flowing, soothing.. water.

Magical and stunning my friend. Truly..

A fantastic piece. I believe in many things and I think that there could very well be a fountain of youth...But in this instance I looked beyond the fountain and saw the metaphor that just within self we need to keep replenishing...to believe in something and come out of the thought, fresh again.

I loved the lines:
"Painted by the will of the temperament" and "While adding a lustful 30 years to an aging soul"...beautiful and stunning imagery.

Nice work!

Your imagery is simply wonderful...but I want a time machine....not a fountain of youth. This is a wonderful poem.

What a thought provoking piece, Ralphy. Your words flow so smoothly and takes the reader along a journey of wishful thinking. How many people would love to find the true fountain of youth and rediscover their younger selves?

Very refreshing. Great work!!!

Ah . . . you know, the "proclaimed" fountain of youth is in St. Augustine, FL. One of my favorite cities, and have travelled there, many a time, but have never dipped myself within it's waters. Why? I guess, I enjoy the wisdom and yes, the beauty that comes with age . . . smiles . . .

This is a poetic masterpiece, full of visualizations that transport the reader into a place, once thought of as, a pure myth. But, you have crafted this piece that makes the myth, the truth.

Lovely, write, dear poet.
