My Christmas Tree

My Christmas Tree

A Poem by Ralphy
"

just me

"

My Christmas tree
is one of kind,
unique and lush
with an unprecedented design,
busting at the seam
viewed from the hall
a visionary dream
wobbling, but standing tall.

My Christmas tree
Is bare to the bone
Not an ornament to cover
The pines are all alone.

I spent all my money
buying this tree
not a dime left over
oh why wasn’t it free.

Somewhere at the top
pushing at the ceiling
is the branch that holds
that star of David
but it’s not there
on the top of this tree
nowhere to be found
lost,
in history.

I must have misplaced my faith,
the warmth that carried me
To this most adoring
heavenly place…
it must have escaped me.

Out of the air,
a light so bright
at the top of my tree
brings goose bumps tonight,
the tears keep fallen
crashing to the floor
please stop me from balling
for my eyes have become sore…

What a humbling
experiences as I watch
in amazement,
the tree has come to life
for the very first time…

Just for little old me.

My favorite lines above. I like where you took this poem. Starring at the tree, one's mind does wander. Well done! Brianna

This is such a endearing poem. Miracles are everywhere, and just when we
least suspect. AD

what an interesting poem, it almost makes you think of the symbolism of christmas and the tree being that some people are lush and spend all their money on the damn holiday, ok well I got distracted either way it holds several meanings and it isn't just about a tree. If you wanna talk about trees I have three fake trees, one pink that looks like a twinkling strawberry sundae, a purple one that I like to call my skeleton tree (because it has little fake skeletons and halloween stuff on it) and my little black christmas tree with the skull base and the bats, spiders and skeletons on it. ^_^

So touching . . . I'm standing in awe of the Christmas tree and all of the beauty of the spirit that surrounds it.

Such a beautiful poem that forces the reader to realize that the true spirit of Christmas is not in the decorations of the eye, but in the decorations of the mind and soul.

Beautiful!
