The Sacrifice

The Sacrifice

A Poem by Ralphy
"

There is so much pain in the world why would we want to introduce more...think before you do

"

The sacrifice

The harsh reality
that plagues this man’s soul,
the cushions of love
as it beckon on moist lips
and elastic motions,
what would one do
if bonded in emotional matrimony
and the murmurs
of the heart sung for change.

For love had at one time
hinged this solid door
and the glorious motion
exhibited a flowing spirit
that shrouded my soul
would remind me
of the constant comfort
 I once possessed.

To crush someone,
of such a virtue,
with a heart so tender of beating motion,
would destroy a natural
work of art and inflame rapture
that would cripple her life
for eternity.

To cease the kiss,
the hold and the embrace
would be such a travesty
that my heart could not bear
responsibility…
for I would rather spend
an eternity bonded in hell
than to express the thought
of breaking her pure heart

Excellent piece, Ralphie. Full of strong passion, emotion and maturity. How true it is to think before you speak and act for your words and actions have the power to cripple and/or destroy. But on the other hand, what is one to do when they no longer love and desire the other in the same fashion as before? How do you impart such words of uninterest and still make it easy to look the other in the face without being a jerk? Nothing lasts forever except true love and if it isn't true, then it inevitably ends.

This is heartfelt. Great job!!

This is a thoughtful and considerate piece to ponder deep. Well written!
