A Poem by Balkaran Sidhu
"

Not able to find suitable titles yet

"
I licked the little breath of flowers
The fragrance of pollen
A coherent music of arctic blossoms

That bloomed in simultaneous timings
At the selfless dawn the lovers met
Like the most familiar of guests

At the end where human nature ceased
When the need of love grew meek and shallow

The jargon of no-defeats, never-give-ups
Where I stared vacant into your lot
And you asked me for the mighty magic of my sheer presence

That I cannot reciprocate, impotent
I like to cuddle old neighbour, God
Like a little cousin, kisses her on the cheeks

And tells her what she will be like when
She grows up, evolution has been sniffing
Up her sleeves, a prayer remained at her side
From a foreign saturated homesick eye of mine.

Condemned of so much giving,
Condemned of loving and hoping
I put a silent question mark
on your eyes and my memories
moments of flirting like meadow-bees.
