Lovelorn

A Poem by Barbie_XII
"

I fantasise with you in my mind, if you could touch the love in my heart you would know the texture of true love - Ntshonga Awonke

"
LOVELORN

I am kept awake by memories we never made
Swimming in salty waters I fail to keep my pillow dry
My thoughts are racing, you're the prize
For I was raised to keep my eyes on the prize
My cheeks are a wetland, never dry
For my eye-falls forever run
Ask me how I make it, everyday
It will take a tale to pierce your heart

The daily bread serves, so I survive
Your image feeds my rocky soul
And splashes tears on my lid banks
Out and rolling like a fountain
So pure my eyes are cleansed
My heart is bleeding but you don't see
It is already designed to pump blood

You are the spring of my bitter sweet love
But you never fill the narrow calabashes in my soul
Your image never leaves the gaols of my heart
Perfectly fit to the floor of my soul
I'll never have doubts on my side
As the time still ticks
I hope, to you, these words I'll demystify
For this affection will never, by death, die

Beautiful. I can feel the forlorn.
