'89 '90 Crash

A Poem by John Baryn
"

After unemployment and no hope for work this was written while slightly depressed, in November 1990 the poem was added to and the last two lines became my philosophy for life.

"

’89 ’90 Crash

Nov.1990

Alive: But I’ve died!

No hope; No work for me now.

It’s inside I’ve cried

With self-pity, wondering; How?

How do l ease the pressure intensified,

Being out of work at forty, forty-five.

Jan 1991

Forty, forty-five. No d****t! Forty-two.

Recognise. Realise. Not half a lifetime gone.

It’s all a lifetime to do

The glass half-full attitude, and hopefully one that saw you through.
