Dark Side of Love (11-06-2004)

A Poem by John Baryn
"

An apology for a youthful mistake, regret and the realisation, the love for a lost soul mate never leaves you, it only makes way for doubt and regret.

"

You showed no rebellion,
 always loyal and true,
‘though with shadows of sorrow
 in shades unheard.

No one:  Least I!
Saw sorrow in your eyes
when I left
without backward glance or word.

Destined to a lifetime
and a world apart.
Having lost the pleasure of you.

I find you here now, deep in my heart.

No longer in the flush of youth
I realise, by forgoing goodbyes.
The pain I’ll carry, as long as I live.

You took from me nothing

l took all you could give
