Inconspicuous

we are the darkness

Nobody remembers us

We are the invisible people

the oxen used for a churrus

 

necessary, but ignored

you could describe us as

indistinguishable; but we are not

 

anyone ignorant of our authoritative presence

might assume us simple

which is absolute ludicrous

 

today we celebrate the invisible people (ourselves)

by stepping out into the sunlight to collect our praise

only to retract back into the darkness

 

To be forgotten, once again

until heard through a meticulous pen

with our orders, one through ten
